Mountain Top

This crash from "WeAreSinking" shows how a well aimed crash can end up looking very ammusing.

8/10 6/12/2004

Now you see it, now you dont

"a supercharged loco slamming into 10 Flying Scotsmans. The loco actually travelled THROUGH four of the Scotsmans before the crash." Interesting stuff from Tom.

9/10 6/12/2004

Factory Smash

Tom smashed his RailAmerica freight train into a factory at over 150mph

8/10 6/12/2004

Simple apparently

"This crash basically shows what happens when a freight train crashes into a bufferstop at 220 MPH. Enjoy."

Great work Tom, and I see some of the wreckage even made it into a river ;)

9/10 6/12/2004

Mounted

This crash I did myself, on the Brighton - Portsmouth route. I took a South West Trains 12CIG and approached Portsmouth & Southsea at around 60mph (the limit is 15). The middle of the train derailed with the rear section mounting the stopped coaches before rolling down the embankment.

8/10 6/12/2004

Too close

Tom crashed a number of locos within a tunnel at 160mph. And we all know how well MSTS handles tunnels and crashes!

9/10 6/12/2004

Crash Bang Wallop... Splash?

"An Acela Express ramming three locos on a bridge causing two of the locos to fall into the water with one sinking completely and the other barely breaking the surface." Great stuff Tom

9/10 6/12/2004

Run out

Again from Tom, this time he ran out of track at over 100mph so his Amtrak train ended up scattered across a field.

7/10 6/12/2004

Smashed

Here Tom has smashed an Acela train into 3 diesel locos. Simple but effective.

7/10 6/12/2004

VIA the river

Tom sent this VIA passenger train into his favourite river, creating a nice big mess.

8/10 6/12/2004

Three of a kind

This crash from JarOfWar simply has 3 BNSF diesels getting to know each other better!

7/10 26/11/04

Never build a house next to the tracks

A simple title and warning from JarOfWar, that's the second house wasted in this update! Nice work!

9/10 26/11/04

It's outta here

"Here's a crash I just did. I rammed a train into two other trains and then had a fourth train derail seconds apart" I love the wagon simply floating on the left of the second shot, nice stuff."

8/10 26/11/04

CP Crashes

"Here are two crashes I did earlier today. The first involves running my supercharged CP AC4400 into a passenger train at 1766 MPH. The second involves uncoupling a train pulled by the same loco then hitting the brakes at over 500 MPH." Nice work Tom.

7/10 26/11/04

Unexpected

"Here's a crash that I wasn't expecting. I was driving a train which was really four trains end to end and I was slowing down when I saw that the loco of the third train derail and jack-knife. At the time, the first train had a supercharged locomotive on the head end and I was in reverse, so I backed into the wreck creating an even bigger wreck. I hope I haven't confused you, but enjoy..." The shots speak for themselves Tom.

9/10 26/11/04

Chase Crash

Tom decided to showcase the 1987 crash at Chase involving three Conrail diesels and an Amtrak train. As train sim goes, its a nice enough crash!

8/10 26/11/04

I can't see my house from here!

Tom got CB&Q freight train and smashed it into a house at over 170mph leaving this massive pile up and tailback of destruction!

10/10 26/11/04

FactoryGrinder

Tom crashed a rail grinding train into a factory at over 200mph sending bits and pieces everywhere!

8/10 26/11/04

Train of tomorrow

Apparently the trains of tomorrow will feature waterproofing just in case Tom gets to drive them! A supercharged loco ended up flying into the air and into a river. That's gravity for you Tom!

9/10 26/11/04

Bufferstopped 1

This crash from Tom has a commuter train smashing through a buffer stop at over 90mph

8/10 15/11/04

Bufferstopped 2

Tom smashed through another bufferstop just this time in a VIA train and at over 125mph!

Nice stuff.

8/10 15/11/04

Ram it

"Here are two more crashes involving ramming a VIA train into something. This time, it's a roadrailer train led by my one tonne locomotive. Enjoy."

Looks like Tom had a smashing time! I think I will give up on the jokes for this page. Nice work Tom!

9/10 15/11/04

The Train Of Tomorrow, crashing today

"I crashed one of my supercharged locomotives into the Train of Tomorrow at over 400 MPH. The loco bounced right off the tracks after it hit and derailed."

Good stuff Tom!

8/10 15/11/04

Back at the factories

Tom returned to smashing up the factories in MSTS this time with VIA train ramming into one at just under 90mph

7/10 15/11/04

Amtrak Buffer

Tom took his Amtrak train and found an elevated bufferstop to smash into at over 100mph.

9/10 15/11/04

A bridge too far

"Here's a crash I just did. I crashed the Bombardier Jet train into another train on a bridge while going at 138 MPH and knocked the loco and first coach of the train I hit off the bridge. Enjoy." Nice work Tom!

9/10 3/11/04

Outsized II

Bored with ramming freight wagons, Tom moved on to ramming UFO's with a VIA passenger train.

8/10 3/11/04

Subway shove

This came in from Tom as he attempted to show what happened with a certain accident on the Toronto subway system. "A subway train was sideswiped by a work train, however, when I tried to recreate the crash, one car fell over, even though I hit at 20 MPH.".

7/10 3/11/04

Outsized

Tom sent in this interesting crash of him ramming a single freight wagon with a VIA passenger train. Not sure who came off worse though!

8/10 3/11/04

Upside down

I am not sure if this is the new Eurostar London Central line, but either way this shot from JarOfWar is amusing.

7/10 3/11/04

Side tunnel

JarOfWar sent in this crash simply with the words "JarOfWar is back on track!" I think that should be "is totally off the rails" ;)

10/10 3/11/04

That river

Tom found his favourite river again and crashed a passenger train into it at 80mph. Ever get that sinking feeling?

8/10 3/11/04

Rammed

Tom rammed a train at over 740kmh into a bufferstop making it fly over the Ribblehead viaduct. Good stuff!

8/10 3/11/04

What goes up...

Tom found one of his favourite bufferstops at 600mph to create this. Very nice work indeed.

9/10 22/10/04

Simple

Again from Tom: "crash involves a train being pulled by the Bombardier Jet Train locomotive crashing into a bufferstop at 115 MPH".

8/10 22/10/04

Odd?

Tom emailed this crash in " an Amtrak train being led by my supercharged EWS Class 56. I uncoupled the EWS unit at over 300 MPH and hit the brakes. This time when the coaches hit, something odd happened which resulted in the view that you see." I like it when something odd happens in MSTS, its usually a good thing!

8/10 22/10/04

Ribblehead Mess

This crash was from an activity Charles is making... "At about 70mph, the FGW HST hits a Scotsman set, hitting our Intercity/Great Western HST. Then, two 57's top 'n' tailing MK3 set and another Scotsman set hit." The end result is a very large mess!

9/10 14/10/04

A bridge too far

This great crash sent in by Tom "I was driving a commuter train at over 120 MPH when I uncoupled the first loco and hit the breaks; letting the rest of the train hit the loco. The loco and first car derailed and fell off a bridge. The second and third cars derailed but remained coupled to the rest of the train as it carried on." Great timing with the screenshots again!

9/10 14/10/04

Collided

Tom sent this one in where it "involves a train running off the end of the line and through a building". Makes a bit of a mess too!

9/10 14/10/04

What goes up must come down

This crash from Tom has a passenger train taking to the skies at over 100mph and what seems to be a shot of it after it slowed down from that speed!

8/10 14/10/04

James The Dead Engine

Liam decided to "pretend" that the breaks on his engine had failed, but this time it was the classic children's engine, James (The red engine) which ends up buried in a bufferstop at over 60mph.

7/10 9/10/04

Ribblehurt

This big crash is from Tom after he smashed a diesel train into the back of the Flying Scotsman at over 750km/h!! A great timed first screenshot gets this a top rating!

10/10 9/10/04

We're running out of...

This crash from Tom has another commuter train thats trying to make its own way up a hill with no track

8/10 30/9/04

Lumberjack

This derail from Tom shows a Amtrak train smashing into each other and crashing into the trees along the side of the railway.

8/10 30/9/04

Flipping Heck!

"I crashed a VIA train on the S&C route into a bufferstop at 245 mph and these three pics are the result." Another great timed shot shows the train flipping into the air. Great stuff!

10/10 30/9/04

Buffer Stopped

Tom was running an Amtrak train on the S&C route when he managed to find a buffer stop at around 100mph. Again a very nice screenshot!

9/10 30/9/04

Uphill Struggle

Tom was running a commuter train in push mode. Sadly he pushed a little to hard and the train went off the end of the track and ended up halfway up a hill.

8/10 30/9/04

Steam crash

This detailed crash from Tom Jankowski happened because the train he was driving went through a bufferstop at 90mph making the train go off in 3 different places. Great timed screenshots too!

9/10 30/9/04

Sunk

Tom sent in this Amtrak crash with the resulting train sunk in that most used of rivers in MSTS.

8/10 30/9/04

Upside down

This was sent in by Marcel Hodiamont and shows a great derail of a Acela HHP8 ending up on its roof.

8/10 30/9/04

Smoke on the water

Tom sent this watery crash in after a steam freight train derailed and went straight into his favourite river.

7/10 13/9/04

Supercharged Orient

This crash from Tom has his supercharged EWS Class 56 pulling the Orient Express hitting a bufferstop at over 310mph. You can see the distance the coaches flew from the impact!

9/10 13/9/04

Towed off

From Charles, this crash has a FGW HST being pulled by a Class 47 but unfortunatly they both ended up smashing through a bufferstop.

7/10 5/09/04

Occupied

Charles sent this crash in showing two HST's crashing into oneanother and then spilling into a class 47 train on the other side, the result leaves the two HST's taking over most of the town!

9/10 5/09/04

Tunnel Explosion

Another extreme crash from JarofWar showing a vast amount of wagons and engines flying out of the entrance of a tunnel into the sky. Very nice.

9/10 31/8/04

And it's outta here

This crash from Tom shows the muscle of a diesel smashing into the Flying Scotsman at over 370kmh resulting in coaches flying everywhere. Both locos ended up in different locations as you can see.

9/10 31/8/04

U - W.O.T?

I try to mark all the crashes fairly, but this scores marks just for being silly. Tom sent these two in of his old UFO Train crashing into the hills of MSTS. Its a bizarre world, maybe these aliens were trying to escape?

8/10 31/8/04

Pen and Pet

Charles " took a Virgin Pendolino at about 100mph towards Oxenholme, where I saw a EWS Class 37 pulling 14 petrol wagons coming towards me on the same track." The results show parts of the train rolling down the hill.

8/10 31/8/04

The end is upon us

Charles derailed this top/tail 86/90 freight train on the West Coast after finding exactly where the end of the line was.

6/10 31/8/04

Crystal clear

This was sent in from Charles: "I was driving an Intercity Class 47 'Woman's Royal Voluntary Service' with a MK2 set when I found the end of the Crystal Palace line. The carriages seemed to bend up as the train crashed, making it a rather odd, not your daily, run to Crystal Palace."

7/10 23/8/2004

To the factory and beyond

Tom sent this crash in using his Acela and EWS consist, finding another factory and smashing it at a ridiculous speed, again over 300mph!

8/10 23/8/2004

Conrailed

Tom sent in this crash of a Conrail train jumping what seems to be his favourite river.

8/10 23/8/2004

That river

It seems Mark has found Tom's river, but this time he has attacked it with a subway train, maybe this was the trials for the Channel Tunnel?

7/10 23/8/2004

Blam

This big derail from Tom shows a Acela train smashing into a factory at over 330mph and he has confirmed there is a EWS 56 being smashed in that as well... not sure why but great stuff

8/10 23/8/2004

Caboose Party

This crash from JarOfWar simply shows a massive close derail with BNSF locos and cabooses pilled up, quality!

9/10 23/8/2004

MBTA

Tom was driving a MBTA commuter train with a streetcar and diesel loco leading. Around one curve on the Tokyo-Hakone route, I the commuter train became uncoupled and derailed while the streetcar continued on.

7/10 23/8/2004

Alright for the driver

This derail from Charles shows that the One Class 90 loco got to the staion fine (well sort of) but the rest of the coaches are in a sorry state (no not the naff livery, the crash ;) )

8/10 18/8/04

Did we just hit a bufferstop?

This again from Charles, this time with a One Anglia class 90 being dragged by an Intercity livery Class 47 end up in a field!

9/10 18/8/04

Clean up!

A Virgin West Coast service pulled by a Class 87 smashes into Mannintree station, I bet the people who parked their cars there are very happy with this one from Charles!

8/10 18/8/04

Eurocrash

This crash from Charles shows the GNER Eurostar ploughing through the buferstop at Harwich(apparently).

7/10 18/8/04

Tree Route

This derail from Mark has a train loaded with cars, derailing on a tight curve and hiding the loco in the surrounding trees.

6/10 18/8/04

Service to mars

These two crashes came from Charles who crashed both the Virgin Pendolino and the GNER 225. Both hit a bufferstop at over 105mph after only running 7miles. Apparently the Pendolino was about ready to take off at serious speed, where as most of the 225 disappeared!

8/10 18/8/04

I want to break free

Fam sent this crash in of the Jet Train after it reached the end of the line, it also nearly reached Mach1. "Either it fell off the edge of the world or went directly into space!"

8/10 18/8/04

Going going gone

This crash from Tom has the Flying Scotsman being rammed backwards by a passenger diesel service. The resulting impact threw the diesel coaches down the Ribblehead valley leaving only one coach and the loco itself, whereas the Flying Scotsman sits slightly derailed on the edge!

8/10 18/8/04

Is that what I think it is?

This crash from Tom "occurred when I was reversing at over 260 MPH over a switch. The front half of the train inexplicably derailed while the rear portion went ahead". Is that a EWS Class 56 in the middle of it all? Good work!

8/10 18/8/04

Oops

This crash caught me off guard, I was testing our Class 43 sounds on a HST and without realising it I had totally derailed and gone airborne. Oops...

8/10 12/8/04

Speed + Buffer =...

This big up close derail is from Liam who has sent in the results of a Thalys train smashing into a buffer stop at 199Mph. The crash caused the train to flip into the air and eventually land in wall of a house. Very nice work.

10/10 12/8/04

Devastating steam

This crash is from Liam who created his own crash activity to make this nasty steam crash. Good work!

9/10 12/8/04

Priority

This crash from Jar Of War proves the rule that passenger trains take priority over freight isn't always true.

9/10 12/8/04

Explode

This mid air explosion is from Jar Of War, showing some stunning destruction.

10/10 12/8/04

Electric Dash

This made me laugh, excellent landing on this crash by Jar Of War, a Dash9 landing on an electrical sub station.

9/10 12/8/04

Anglian Crash

This crash from Charles shows his First Great Weston livery HST Class 43 smashing into a siding, resulting in a massive derail with coaches going across the other lines and the standard class coaches telescoping the front loco.

8/10 7/8/04

Black Death

This crash sent in from Liam is yet another crashed train caused from a bufferstop. This time its Silver Link A4 steamer crashing at 116mph leaving the tender to push the loco out of the way. Then the camera gets filled with black smoke.

7/10 7/8/04

Next train to arrive at platform 1...

I was driving this Class 319 EMU to London Victoria at just about the speed limit, but all of a sudden the train derailed at only 40mph and ended up sliding across the line into a station I was going past.

8/10 7/8/04

Dashing Derail

This derail sent in from Ash shows a 2x Dash9 BNSF freight train being slightly overcome by the heavy wagons they are pulling.

7/10 1/08/2004

Arriving on platform 1

I did this crash earlier today with a Intercity 125, going far to fast on the approach to a station. The train derailed and crashed through the platform. The the train skidded away from the railway into some surrounding houses eventually ending up smashed against a bridge ahead. The last coach and engine stayed on the track without problems.

8/10 1/08/2004
