About Light Trail
Light Trail is a site dedicated to some of the
experiments I have undertaken with my camera chasing different colours
of light from different objects to create dazzeling, detailed images.
All of the images you find on this site are photos
I have taken of various light trails I have created. None of the
images on the site have not been edited in any way other than cropping.
No filters or effects have been used to create or edit the images.
The images are created from many different items
I have found around my house, including my mobile phone. Inspired
by the many artists and photographers who have taken long exposure
photos of cars, motorways and cityscapes with a long exposure.
I decided to experiment with the different ways
light from different objects could be captured to make different
shapes and effects. Using nothing more than the light source to
create the images, each picture shows the detailed journey of the
light.
Some of the images have been created using a
virtual canvas where I would have a few seconds to create a background
and then create the shapes I wanted. This non physical and faceless
environment took some time to get used to and gives a huge scope
for creating a vast array of images, shapes and effects.
Some effects and shapes worked better than others
but the point of this site is to show some of the many results I
came away with. The images which are found on this site came about
through literally playing about with my camera and some lights,
I hope to do more intriguing designs and feature them on this website.
High resolution full
original images are available, if you are interested please contact
me.
